Hard to believe a week is already down for this year’s Still I Run Runstreak! I was not sure to be honest how this was going to go. Could I jump back into a routine so quickly after Boston? And was I overcommitting and setting myself up for failure by doing both a daily run and aiming to tackle 100 miles in total with Susie’s Striders? Let’s discuss.
So far, I have been totally surprised that this has worked out to be perfect timing. Knowing that I just have to do any run of sorts in a given day lessens the time commitment — less pressure equals easier commitment. If I’m tight on time, a quick 15-20 minute lunchtime run equals goal met. And it also has given me a new goal at a time when I am on the other side of a big check mark.
The 100 mile goal with Susie’s Striders is a bit more ambitious. I like this because it will force me to figure in some long runs into my schedule — something easier to scale back on when you don’t have a race deadline and oh if say the run just won’t stop. Not that we in New Jersey know what that is like at all…
How’s it going? A week in, I’ve kept my streak alive and knocked out a total of 18.69 miles towards the 100. Not too shabby!
And here are some of the Peloton classes I’ve taken along the way that I loved…
Jess Sims - 20 min HIIT Run - 4/29/25
Matt Wilpers - 20 min Endurance Run - 5/6/25
Susie Chan - 30 min Walk + Run - 12/14/23
Bonus — I love that the Still I Run ambassadors have a run photo contest going this month, where we have to take a photo a day to check off an assortment of 31 categories. Sharing those fun pics, below!
